Academic Career

Educated at Leibniz University Hannover, Northumbria University and the University of St Andrews, studying law, business and theology and receiving a doctoral degree in finance.

Occupation

Professor of International Business at Offenburg, as well as Honorary Research Associate in the Oxford Smith School at the University of Oxford.

Also served as Visiting Professor at the University of St.Gallen (HSG), Visiting Scholar in the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, Visiting Professor at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, Senior Honorary Fellow in the School of Government & International Affairs at Durham University, and as External Examiner at Bayes Business School, City, University of London.

Previously in industry and consulting, e.g. as a Partner and Economics & Policy Leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Managing Director of the official German Export Credit and Investment Insurance Agency and Airbus Group (ex EADS) Head of Guarantees and Export Finance. Vice President of the Berne Union.
